SAND Items With Icons And Uses

Use real item records to make inventory decisions instead of treating every pickup as either junk or treasure.

What Item Choices Must Answer

Players lose value in two different places: on the route when loose loot never extracts, and at base when useful materials are sold before a build or weapon recipe needs them.

Inventory Space Is Part Of Item Value

The cause is missing decision context. Crystal has a visible payout profile, Door Keys unlock a chain, Fabric and Metal Rods can sit in weapon recipes, and containers can matter for what they hold. The right answer changes after extraction, not while the Trampler is still under pressure.

Sort Items After Extraction

Sort items into four buckets after extraction: use on the next run, keep for build, sell surplus, or drop before extraction because the item makes the route unsafe. Then read the sell-items guide if you need the shop UI flow.

  1. Move valuables into valid storage or carry the container before the ship arrives.
  2. After extraction, check payout, stack, rarity, and crafting links before selling resources.
  3. Keep near-term build materials such as Fabric, Metal Rods, and Weapon Parts until your next Trampler or weapon goal is clear.
  4. Sell obvious surplus only after checking the shop total and confirmation prompt.
  5. Drop low-value clutter before extraction if it blocks a safer route or delays boarding.

Item Value Misreads

  • Selling rare-looking material before checking whether it supports a build.
  • Keeping low-value clutter while delaying extraction.
  • Treating a pawn-shop payout as the only value of a material.
  • Following a material tip without checking dated patch notes.
  • Ignoring the difference between expedition value and long-term progression value.
  • Dragging items into the sell area without checking final total and confirmation.

Do The Item Decision After The Route

On the route, the first item question is not price. It is whether the loot is in a valid shelf, rack, fridge, box, or carried container before the ship arrives. A perfect sell plan does not matter if the item never extracts.

At base, open the item card or database page and check payout, stack, rarity, and crafting links. That is where a material can move from "looks like junk" to "keep until the next weapon or Trampler craft is settled."

SAND Items In Inventory Decisions

SAND items are valuable only when the item helps the active expedition, the next build, or a clean sale after extraction. Use the SAND items wiki to keep those options beside the item icon and source.

For SAND items, unknown use is not the same as useless. A useful SAND items entry needs to say when a value, recipe, or drop source is not listed instead of pushing you into a bad sell decision.

  • Use SAND items data before selling materials that may support a near-term Trampler build.
  • Use the SAND items wiki after extraction, not while the route is still unsafe.
  • Keep SAND items with confirmed build or survival value; sell surplus only when the next need is clear.
  • Recheck SAND items after economy or crafting changes.

FAQ

Should I sell all items after an expedition?

No. Use the four buckets: use on the next run, keep for near-term builds, sell clear surplus, or drop low-value clutter before extraction if it creates risk.

Why should I keep Fabric, Metal Rods, or Weapon Parts?

SAND Game DB links these resources to weapon or crafting examples. Keep them until you know whether your next Trampler or weapon plan needs them.

When is an item safe to sell?

After it has extracted, appears in storage, is not needed for the next build, and the shop total and confirmation prompt match what you expect.
