SAND Weapons With Real Fields
Use this weapon lookup to compare actual weapon choices before you load ammo and commit to a route.
What Weapon Data Players Need
Weapon labels alone are not enough. You need the icon, ammo, magazine, rarity, range falloff, and the failure case: what happens if you miss, reload, or run out of the ammo type while the Trampler is parked badly.
Ammo, Magazine, And Falloff Change Fights
Combat decisions in SAND depend on range, Trampler positioning, ammo burden, squad role, escape route, and patch state. The same Pepper Mill Shotgun, Petros Rifle, Blitz Pistol, or M82 Rifle changes value when the route changes from tight boarding pressure to open-landmark sightlines.
Choose Weapons By Route Range
Check the weapon name, rarity, magazine, ammo, falloff, and linked evidence; then decide whether it protects extraction, defends a parked Trampler, or only tempts you into a fight you should skip.
- Use shotguns only when you expect boarding, tight cover, or short path fights near the Trampler.
- Use one-shot Petros rifles only when you have time to reload or a squadmate covers the miss.
- Use M82-style rifle pressure when the route lets you hold mid-range without abandoning repairs or storage.
- Use pistols as fallback tools, not as proof that every POI fight is worth taking.
- Treat fields marked not listed as unknown until you verify them in game or a database entry that matches observed game behavior.
Weapon Choice Checks
| Entry | What it means | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Before you act | weapon icons, rarity, magazine size, ammo compatibility, durability, falloff, crafting notes, and linked evidence | Open the weapon evidence when magazine, ammo, falloff, or crafting data changes the build. |
| The choice | Choose SAND weapons by route range, ammo plan, reload pressure, and extraction risk. | Match close-range weapons to short routes and keep long-range tools for positions where reload timing is safe. |
| Watch out for | A weapon list without stats and icons is just filler and does not help a loadout decision. | If the source does not say it clearly, do not build the SAND weapons plan around it. |
| Can change when | SAND weapons wiki can change after store edits, patches, server incidents, database updates, or new public testing. | Look again before spending money, changing a build, routing an expedition, or telling a squad the SAND weapons answer is settled. |
Weapon Stat Misreads
- Picking a weapon because a video looked strong in a different route context.
- Loading 12 GA, 11x54 mm, 9x42 mm, and 8x21 mm without knowing which gun will use each stack.
- Choosing combat power when the expedition objective is safe extraction.
- Taking a one-shot rifle into panic range and then losing the reload window.
- Trusting an old meta note after a patch.
Ammo Is Part Of The Loadout
Do the ammo check before leaving base. Shotguns, Petros rifles, Blitz pistols, EB revolvers, and M82 rifles do not share one simple pile of bullets. If the wrong stack sits in storage, the gun becomes dead weight when another crew pushes the tower.
The safest beginner habit is to carry fewer weapon families and know exactly which ammo supports the gun you plan to use while defending repairs, loot shelves, or the final cable window.
SAND Weapons Loadout Examples
SAND weapons need to be read as route tools. The SAND weapons wiki is useful when it shows whether a shotgun, rifle, pistol, revolver, or rocket launcher fits the distance and ammo pressure of the route.
For SAND weapons, magazine size and falloff can matter more than rarity. A rare SAND weapons entry is not automatically the best pick if the route keeps you outside its useful range or forces slow reloads near extraction.
- Use the SAND weapons wiki before choosing a close-range shotgun for a route with long sightlines.
- Use SAND weapons data to check ammo compatibility before carrying rare rounds.
- Use SAND weapons notes after a patch when falloff, crafting, or ammo behavior feels different.
- Keep SAND weapons choices tied to extraction timing, because a heavy fight late in the route can erase the value of a strong loadout.
- Compare SAND weapons by listed details first, then test the weapon in the installed game version.
- Use SAND weapons notes again when the route changes from tight interiors to longer sightlines.

FAQ
What is the best beginner weapon in SAND?
There is no safe universal answer yet. Pick the weapon whose ammo, magazine, and range match your route. A simple sidearm plus a weapon you can reload under pressure beats a copied meta gun with the wrong ammo.
Should I bring a shotgun or rifle?
Bring a shotgun for tight boarding or POI pressure. Bring a rifle when your Trampler can keep distance and you have time to reload. If extraction is already loaded, avoiding the fight can be the best weapon choice.
Why are some stats marked unknown or not listed?
Those fields are not filled from guesses. If SAND Game DB or the game UI does not list the value, treat it as patch-sensitive until verified.
